Three-year standout center for Delphi H.S.l…All-Sectional, All- Regional each season…twice helped his team to state finals in 1928 & 1929, the latter squad finishing regular season undefeated…stood only 6-1, but considered the greatest jumping center of his era…All-State…played three years with Western Michigan…led team to 40-13 record in that time, including a victory over Michigan…coached two years at Markleville High School, then 13 at Benton Harbor, Mich…that team won nine conference titles…went to state tourney three times…Michigan state champs in ’41, runner-up in ’45…varsity coach two years at Western Michigan…coached Univ. of Michigan Wolverines eight seasons…played professional basketball with Indianapolis Kautskys & Caeser’s All-Americans.
