Three-year standout center for Delphi H.S.l...All-Sectional, All- Regional each season...twice helped his team to state finals in 1928 & 1929, the latter squad finishing regular season undefeated...stood only 6-1, but considered the greatest jumping center of his era...All-State...played three years with Western Michigan...led team to 40-13 record in that time, including a victory over Michigan...coached two years at Markleville High School, then 13 at Benton Harbor, Mich...that team won nine conference titles...went to state tourney three times...Michigan state champs in '41, runner-up in '45...varsity coach two years at Western Michigan...coached Univ. of Michigan Wolverines eight seasons...played professional basketball with Indianapolis Kautskys & Caeser's All-Americans.
