State ... 1947 (26-5) 378 points - 3rd in NIT, 1948 (29-3) 451 points - 6th in NIT, (25-8) 355 points, 1950 (27-6) 460 points  ... N.C. State was 1st in Southern Conference all 4 years ... still 8th highest scorer in school history ... NCAA Final Four in 1950 ... 1948 Helms 1st Team All American, 1949 AP Honorable Mention ... 1950 AP 2nd team, Converse Yearbook 2nd team, Helms 3rd team, All NCAA Regional East Team, All NCAA Final Team ... played in East-West College All-Star game ... voted one of the 5 most valuable North Carolina State players of all time and number retired in February, 1999 ... only player in N.C. State history to be All-Conference for 4 years ... 1 year with Anderson Packers in 50-51 and one year with Boston Celtics in 51-52.
