A 4-year starter at Delphi High School … a 3-time all-sectional and all-regional performer … as a senior in 1930, his 4-minute, one-man dribbling stall gave Delphi a return trip to state tourney … played on 2 Big 10 championships teams at Purdue University  … played on 2 Big 10 football champions … first intercollegiate game, he ran 78 yards for a touchdown the first time he carried the ball & scored 3 touchdowns … AD, coach at West Lafayette … coached 7 managed Sheboygan, Wis., Redskins professional basketball team … 2 years later, in ’48, became commissioner of the National Basketball League … after merger with BAA, became manager & coach of Anderson Duffy Packers, reaching NBA championship game … in ’51, organized& was vice president & coach of Milwaukee Hawks … first president of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Foundation.
