A 4-year starter at Delphi High School ... a 3-time all-sectional and all-regional performer ... as a senior in 1930, his 4-minute, one-man dribbling stall gave Delphi a return trip to state tourney ... played on 2 Big 10 championships teams at Purdue University  ... played on 2 Big 10 football champions ... first intercollegiate game, he ran 78 yards for a touchdown the first time he carried the ball & scored 3 touchdowns ... AD, coach at West Lafayette ... coached 7 managed Sheboygan, Wis., Redskins professional basketball team ... 2 years later, in '48, became commissioner of the National Basketball League ... after merger with BAA, became manager & coach of Anderson Duffy Packers, reaching NBA championship game ... in '51, organized& was vice president & coach of Milwaukee Hawks ... first president of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Foundation.
