Leading scorer for East Chicago Washington during 1970-71 season, scored combined 68 points in final two tournament wins versus Floyd Central and Elkhart, 40 points in semi-final game tied record for highest single game total in state finals history, and 116 points in last four games of tournament was 4th best in history...he scored the final field goal in state finals history at Hinkle Fieldhouse...played on UCLA NCAA championship teams in 1973 and 1975 for Hall of Famer John Wooden..2nd person in history to win IHSAA state championship as player, NCAA Div. I National Championship as player and IHSAA state championship as coach...his 2007 East Chicago Central team won 4A state championship.
