Twice the leading scorer and captain of Whiteland team ... 4-year letter-winner ... 3 baseball letters ... 4 letters at Indiana Central ... leading scorer and captain 2 years ... captained track team, and added a baseball letter ... coached 7 years at Crispus Attucks, creating one of the great legends in high school basketball ... brought Indianapolis its first state championship in '55 ... year later became state's first undefeated state champion ... runner-up next season, '57 ... state finalist in '51 ... school's athletic director 11 years...served 4 1/2 terms in the Indiana House of Representatives...assistant director with Indiana Department of Public Instruction...later, director of Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation.
