At Franklin Central, averaged 11 points and seven rebounds as a sophomore, 21.3 points and 13 rebounds as a junior and 27.2 points and 12.5 rebounds as a senior. Career scoring high 45 points. Senior year first team UPI All-State, All-Conference, and All-Sectional. At University of Louisville led the team in steals with 54 his senior year even though only averaging less than 18 minutes per game. Known nationally as ‘Instant Defense’ for his ability to come in and make something happen. Regarded as one of the nation’s best sixth men. Drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the sixth round of the NBA draft.
