All-time single-game and career scoring leader for New Castle Chrysler High School, scored 57 points in 1983 semi-state, 2,116 career points… Two years all-state, three years all-NCC, 1983 Mr. Basketball… played for his father, HOF coach Sam Alford… 1984 Olympic Gold Medalist… Team MVP for four years at Indiana University, 1986 and 1987 All-American, 1987 NCAA National Champions… graduated as IU’s all-time leading scorer, 2,438 points, and all-time leader in steals, 178… played in NBA for Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors… college head coach at Manchester College, Southwest Missouri State, University of Iowa, New Mexico and UCLA… led Manchester College to NCAA Division III national championship game… most NCAA coaching wins all-time of any coach 50 years old and younger.
