All-State back guard for New Castle ... 3-year letter-winner ... keyed Trojans' 1932 state championship ... as a senior played football just one year, but earned All-State acclaim as an end at Indiana University ... 3 letters each in basketball and football ... All-American in both basketball and football in '36 ... played two years of professional football with the Detroit Lions ... held a law degree from Indiana University ... his college career spanned 5 years because of a severe ankle injury that cost him the '34 football season and the '35 basketball season.
