Starting guard on Crispus Attucks' 1955 state championship team...played under Hall of Fame coach Ray Crowe and teamed with Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson and Willie Merriweather on '55 squad...earned varsity letters in four sports at Attucks...a two-year varsity letter winner, co-captain and MVP of the 1958-59 Butler team under Hall of Famer Tony Hinkle, which won 19 games including the school's first NIT victory...won the Hilton U. Brown Mental Attitude Award in 1958-59...honorable mention on the 1959 NIT All-Tournament team...a teacher and counselor in Indianapolis Public Schools, he was a coach at Attucks from 1965-1979, was varsity head coach from 1973-79, leading them to a 1974 sectional title...1955 Crispus Attucks team was inducted in 2005.
