Inducted 1975

Took impressive Scottsburg record to Indiana University where he played 3 yrs for Hall of Famer Everett Dean...captain, all-conference...winner of coveted Balfour Award in both '33 and '34...made his name in coaching, winning 12 sectionals, 6 regionals and 2 semistate championships in 18-yr high school coaching career (see above)...main success came first at Jasper where '38 team was 23-5 and at Marion where he put 2 teams into state finals...widely known for his strong desire to win and his excitable nature, he once was seatbelted down in a futile attempt to control his sideline antics!
