A 4-sport athlete at Crawfordsville...took basketball skills to Notre Dame...played center on team that won 50 of 52 games, both losses being to pro teams...played football for Notre Dame's '09 Western Conf. champs...Walter Camp All-American that year...moved on to Princeton for final 2 yrs...All-American in '11 and '12, playing fullback and tackle... became Purdue's basketball coach the next year.
