Indiana's most highly respected basketball officials...
worked over 1,000 games... officiated 5 straight state
title games from 1936-1940... a great high school
athlete at Shelbyville... received school's Paul Cross
Award for scholar-athletes... played semi-pro and
professional basketball 10 years... coached St. Joseph's
High School, gaining national Catholic tourney berth his
first year... a founding father of the Indiana
Basketball Hall of Fame, and its original fundraising
chairman... Hall of Fame scholarship program named in
his honor... in his hometown, a 7-foot plaque honors him
as "Mr. Shelbyville"... received the coveted
David Ben-Gurion Award from the state of Israel. |
