Played in 2 state tourneys for Evansville Central...3-year stand- out at DePauw...team captain as senior...much-praised player in days before All-American teams...named to all-Western first team in '27...coached 16 seasons at Tipton High School...11 sectional crowns and 2 regional titles...3 championships in Central Indiana Athletic Conference, a league he helped found...coached Tipton to 26-0 mark in '36 before losing to Kokomo in regional…moving to Elwood, won 3 more CIAC titles in 9 years. After retiring from coaching, served as Elwood's athletic director 2 and a half decades.
