All-state guard, playing for state finalist Thorntown team…Gimbel Medal winner…though recruited by "Piggy" Lambert at Purdue, an injury in the state finals, ended his athletic career. He coached for a year at Jefferson Township in Clinton County before beginning long tenure at Kokomo High School. He took the Wildkats to the state finals in 1932.
