All-State player at Marion .. all-sectional twice and all-regional once ... 4-sport athlete, played basketball 3 yrs and baseball for 4 years…played semi-pro basketball with the Marmon Motor Car Co….Was secretary-treasurer of South Central Athletic Conference for 25 years and a member of the State Board of Education from 1944-48…past president of Indiana Association of Junior & Senior High School Principals.
