As sophomore in 1900, was player, coach and captain of Purdue University's 1st basketball team...was introduced to game as 11-yr-old Crawfordsville resident, playing in the sport's Hoosier birthplace, the Crawfordsville YMCA, just a few months after basketball was introduced here...at that time, there were 9 men on a team with no dribbling allowed, only passing...before attending Purdue, played at Wabash Prep, winning a letter playing with Wabash College team...after college, coached at Wabash Preparatory, before turning to officiating. |
