Won 418 and lost 153 during 23-year high school coaching career ... coached 4 sports at Fort Wayne Central, winning state basketball championship in 1943 ... won 10 sectionals, 8 regionals, and 4 semistates ... coached Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons 2 yrs and Anderson Packers 3 yrs, winning National Basketball League title with that team in '48-'49 ... was named league's coach of the year the previous season…played basketball and baseball at West Newton…at DePauw University, starred 3 years for a team that lost only eight games in the span, beating such teams as IU, Purdue and Notre Dame…named best college player in 1922…played semi-pro football and pro basketball.
