Coaching stints at Kempton, Forest in Clinton County, Rossville, Sheridan, Coached tiny Scircleville to 20-5 record in first season of 28-yr coaching career ... coached year at Kempton, which had no gym and team played in local store ... later became principal at Rossville, returned to coaching 'as a hobby' ... second Rossville team had losing record, but then 5 straight winning seasons ... with only 150 students, Rossville's victories included Kokomo, Frankfort and 3 victories in '46 over Flora, a Final Four team ... took over Sheridan program, improving from 1 victory year before to 12-9 the following year…won three regionals, 9 sectionals and 13 county championships…He had a career coaching record of 460-182, with only three losing seasons.
