champions ... in his first intercollegiate game, he ran
78 yards for a touchdown the first time he carried the
ball and scored 3 touchdowns ... AD, coach at West
Lafayette ... coached and managed Sheboygan, Wis.,
Redskins professional basketball team ... 2 years later,
in '48, became commissioner of the National Basketball
League ... after merger with BAA, became manager and
coach of Anderson Duffy Packers, reaching NBA
championship game ... in '51, organized and was vice
