All-State guard as sophomore, playing for 1929 state championship team...also All-State a year later, as Everett Case's team went to semi-finals...2-time team captain...named by the legendary coach as a member of his all-time high school team...also a 2-yr center on Frankfort's undefeated football team...twice all-Big 10 at Purdue...starting guard for 3 conference championship teams, 1932, '34, '36...All-Western guard 1935...named to Chuck Taylor's All-American team that year...played a year with the Indianapolis Kautskys and a year in Missouri Valley AAU League before beginning successful business career.
