Earned 9 varsity letters in 3 sports...captained football, basketball and baseball teams his senior yr...4-year regular at Hanover, starting 89 games at guard...defensive specialist, but led team in scoring as senior...all-conf....MVP and leading scorer as senior...coached teams to 334 victories...losing season first year, then 19 straight winners... champs in 3 different conferences...5 times named coach of year...11 sectional, 6 regional titles…District 5 Coach of the Year in 1971. Barney is past-president of Indiana High School Athletic Directors Association, and Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Seymour honored him by renaming its facility the "Barney Scott Gymnasium."
