Four-sport athlete at Lawrence Central... lettered in basketball, football and track at North Carolina State University ... played basketball for the legendary Everett Case... began his career as head basketball coach at Presbyterian College... later spent four years as varsity coach at The Citadel, then 5 years at the University of Florida... returned to his alma mater in 1966, coaching there 14 years... his 1974 squad won the national championship, sporting two Hoosiers in its starting lineup... in 1980, returned to the University of Florida as Head Coach.
