Purdue A 2-year All-State selection at Evansville Bosse, where he graduated in 1945 ... led his team to back-to-back state titles in '44 and '45 ... named to each all-tourney team along the way ... named to Indiana all-star team ... a 4-year varsity performer at Purdue University ... captained team as a senior ... twice led Boilermakers in rebounding ... twice the team's number-three scorer ... moved on to 4 seasons with the highly successful Caterpillar AAU team ... started each of those seasons, but a job transfer forced him to leave the team just before it won the gold medal in the '52 Olympics.
