Helped lead his Stendal Aces to 3 straight Pike County champion- ships, 1927 through '30, despite fact team had no gymnasium and practiced outdoors ... captained Evansville College team in '34 ... played 4 years there, teaming with Fall of Famer Arad McCutchan ... a 25-year coaching career -- all at small schools--, ended with a 319-134 record ... stops included Cynthiana, Stendal, Greencastle, Cannelton and Winslow ... coached Winslow to 3 appearances in Sweet 16 ... his '49 team was undefeated, but lost in sectional title game to Jasper, the eventual state champion…served as principal at Winslow and then at Fort Branch.
