Only senior on Evansville Bosse's state championship team in 1944 ... migrated south to Texas Christian University, where he captained Horned Frogs 3 seasons ... because of a military service provision, he became only 5-yr varsity letterman in one sport in Southwest Conference history ... MVP for 3 years ... only player to start and score in 100 straight games ... named to TCU Letterman's Hall of Fame ... also won 2 track letters there ... played a year with Houston Oilers pro basketball team in '51.
