A 2-yr letter-winner for Evansville Central...led team to regional title as a senior...also won hotly contested city title that year...a 4-yr player for Evansville College...team captain as a senior...Aces' high scorer that year...also lettered in baseball and football...played with an Evansville independent team...entered coaching ranks, and in '47 became varsity coach at his high school alma mater...Central won sectional, regional and semi-state a year later, losing '48 state title game to Lafayette Jefferson…coached Central to 4 city championships, 3 conference titles, 5 sectionals and 5 regionals…in 7 seasons his teams posted 132-43 record…retired from coaching to become an Evansville school administration.
