Twice played in Final 4 for Ft Wayne Central...played for Branch McCracken at Indiana University, and a starting guard for 1940 national champs ...Chicago Herald 1941 All-American...played in 1941 college all-star game ...player coach for Ft Wayne Zollners '41-43...set scoring record 1943-44 for Gr Lakes Naval Trng Sta team that won national service championship under Tony Hinkle. He returned to play for the Zollner Pistons after the war. Herm was captain of the Minneapolis Lakers team that featured Hall of Famers George Mikan, Jim Pollard, Vern Mikkelson, Slater Martin and Coach Johnny Kundla. Then played-coached for the Indianapolis Kautskys. He was also head coach of the Olympians.
