Coached high school and college teams to 596 victories through 1991 season ... coached Shelbyville to the Kentucky state championship in 1966 --- moving to Indiana, he coached Muncie Central to back-to-back state titles in 1978 and '79, then won championship again in '88 ... coaching record at Central stood at 275-129 ... two-time Indiana coach of the year ... also Kentucky's coach of the year twice ... coached Moorehead State University to two co-championships in the Ohio Valley Conference.
