Enjoyed record-setting career at Shortridge...acclaimed as one of Indpls's greatest players ever, but he escaped statewide notice because Blue Devils were constantly thwarted by legendary Crispus Attucks teams... left Shortridge with single-season and career scoring records...all-city, all-sectional...team MVP...named Helms All-American at Nebraska, where he led Cornhuskers in scoring and rebounding 3 straight yrs...first Nebraska player to score 1,000 points...all-Big 8 selection...played in east-west college all-star game...participated in the '60 Olympic trials that produced what is generally acclaimed as the greatest U.S. team ever…named to Silver Anniversary Team in '71.
