Coached at Lapel, Ben Davis and Arsenal Tech, Played on 1925 Bulldog squad that won the tough Anderson sectional ...attended Purdue for one year before transferring to Indiana...returned to Lapel to teach and, in 1938. assumed head coaching responsibilities... in 1940, led school with enrollment of 207 to a 22-7 record, including sectional upset of tourney favorite Anderson and a trip to the Final 4 where the Bulldogs dropped a 38-36 afternoon verdict to eventual champ Hammond Tech...then coached 3 yrs at Ben Davis before taking on program at Indianapolis Tech, winning 96 games in seven years.
