All-State in football and basketball... became first player to ever record 1000 points in a season as senior in 1969 when Washington became only 2nd undefeated state champion in Indiana history...148 points in 4 Sweet Sixteen games was also record--as was his 53-point, 31-rebound All-Star game against Kentucky...played 1 yr of varsity ball at IU, as sophomore, avg 31 points a game and leading Hoosiers to 17-7 mark...then joined Indiana Pacers , and was named to the ABA All-Star…signed with the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers in 1976.
