Did not play high school or college basketball...began coaching career in 1930 at Laketon High School...coached 52-student Beaver Dam to consecutive Sweet 16 appearances in 1933 and 1934...was assistant to Coach John Wooden at South Bend Central...Wooden called Kindy 'one of the great basketball scouts.
