Pete scored over 1,000 points at East Chicago Washington playing for Hall of Fame coach Johnnie Barratto. His junior / senior record was a combined 49-6, advancing to Sweet Sixteen both years. He was a four year letter winner in high school and an Indiana All-Star. He won three letters at North Carolina State where he was senior captain. He was head coach at E.C. Washington from 1978-81, in 1979 team was ranked No.3, member of the 1984 of the 1984 Silver Anniversary Team.
