As a player for Eastern Illinois, he was All-Conference 1956, 57, 58…NAIA All-Tourney Team 1957…coaching career began at Chesterton and included Middlebury, Thorntown and Whiteland before going to Frankfort in 1967 where he coached until 1985…career record 381-214…9 sectional championships…2 regionals…7 conference championships…twice named District #3 "Coach of the Year"…27 years as high school basketball coach, 41 years in the field of education…member of Eastern Illinois Athletic Hall of Fame.
