A player for Spencer "Cops" from 1937 to 1941 ... received the MVP award in 1941 ... began college career at Butler in 1941-42 ... interrupted by World War II duty with the US Coast Guard for 36 months ... went back to Butler where he was starting center for three years playing for Hall of Famer Tony Hinkle ... drafted by Indianapolis Olympians 1949, chose to play with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. of the National Industrial Basketball League 1949-50 ... elected captain and named MVP of the Eastern AAU tournament in 1950 ... inducted into the Butler Athletic Hall of Fame March 1994.
