Served with distinction as athletic director of Pike High School for 20 years... was teacher and coach at the same school in the areas of football, basketball, cross country and track for seven years prior to the athletic administrator appointment... was administrator of a twenty-sport program for boys and girls during the school year and a 15-sport summer recreation program... helped plan and design most of Pike's present athletic facilities... founded the Central Suburban Athletic Conference and served as president for the first 15 years... began his teaching and coaching career at Grass Creek High School then to Rome City for six years before beginning his 28 year labor of love at Pike High School in 1959... the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame has profited from Grosskopf's input and leadership, as he has served as an Associate Director, member of the Board of Directors, Secretary for the Board and is currently a Director Emeritus.
