William “Bo” Crain Shortridge 1959 University of Utah 1963

All-City team 1959, All-State team…rebounding leader and 15.9 ppg…coached by Hall of Famer Cleon Reynolds…played 3 years for University of Utah…All-Conference 1962 and 1963... 2nd team All-American…17.7 ppg for 3 years.

Roy Danforth Summitville 1954 Mississippi Southern 1963

3 year varsity award at Summitville…head basketball coach at Syracuse University 1968-1976 record 127-43…in NCAA 3 years, NIT twice…1976-86 Assistant Athletic Director at Tulane University…head basketball coach for Tulane from 1976-81…currently Director of Athletics at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Charles Denbo French Lick 1953 Indiana Central 1957

Earned 9 varsity letters while at French Lick…played four years for Indiana Central…NAJA District 21 champs 1955-56…head basketball coach for 35 years, 27 consecutive years at Orleans High School with a total of 402 wins…began coaching at Vallonia 1961-62, (28-15), Brownstown 1962-66 (53-37), Crothersville 1966-68 (29-15)…3 sectional championships and 9 conference titles in career.

Four-year starter for Yorktown…team won first ever Sectional Championships in 1972 beating Muncie Central and then New Castle in Regional…third All-Time Leading Scorer in Delaware County…All-County, All-Conference, All-Sectional teams (three years)…Indiana All-Star, Co-Captain…four-year starter at Purdue, 73-37 record…started 112 games, won NIT in 1974, All-Big-Ten in 1975, Academic All-Big Ten in 1977…1975 USA Intercontinental Cup Team; Captain of USA 1975 Gold Medal Pan-Am Team…drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers in 9th round, by Washington Bullets in 5th round…Big Ten Medal of Honor in 1977.

All-Conference, All-Sectional, All-Regional, led Northern Indiana Conference in scoring, held single season career scoring and assists records for Michigan City, Coached by Hall of Famer Doug Adams…National East-West All-Star Game…Indiana Kentucky All Star Game, IU ranked 9th in all time scoring and 1000 point scorers for players restricted to 3 years…MVP, All-Big Ten, 2 Balfour Awards…coached college basketball for 18 years at 5 universities…head basketball coach at Wayne State University 1977-1982 and Western Michigan University 1982-1989.

Coached by Hall of Famer Blackie Braden…All-County 1st team, leading scorer in County Tourney with 14 ppg sophomore year and 18 ppg junior year…two-time Butler team captain…MVP 1959-60…two-time all-conference pick…finished collegiate career with 1,154 points…played on Butler’s NIT teams in 1958 and 1959, received Butler’s Andy Williams Mental Attitude award for 1959-60, picked to the Butler All-Decade Basketball Team for the 1950’s…named to the Butler Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997…coached high school basketball 13 years, Mooresville 1960-63, Rochester 1963-67, Rushville 1967-73.

Second freshman to ever start a varsity game at New Albany…career scoring record of 1062…All-SIAC, All-State, Indiana All-Star, All-Sectional, All-Regional, All-Semi-State…coached by Hall of Famers Gordon Ramey and Branch McCracken…played freshman year at University of Detroit and then moved to IU, Big Ten & NCAA Champs sophomore year…Big Ten Champs junior year…lettered 3 years at Indiana…served as Assistant Freshman Coach under Lou Watson.

Single season scoring record 19.3 ppg; single game record of 32 vs Beech Grove…All-City 1st Team…as a senior runner-up to Hallie Bryant for City scoring leader…3-time All-Conference 1st Team while at DePauw…set single season scoring record as a junior and senior…still holds 4 year scoring average at DePauw of 18.6 ppg…Fulbright Scholar 1957-58, played for Johannes Gutenberg University and was undefeated against German Universities with 25.0 ppg,…DePauw University Charter Member of Athletic Hall of Fame 1986, Honorary Doctor of Science 1991, Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award 2001, University of Chicago Honorary Doctor of Science, University of Silesia Honorary Doctor of Science, President of National Kidney Foundation, President of International Society of Nephrology, founded the International Vasopressin Congress.
