Set the single season scoring record with 436 points for Huntington High School, where he played under HOF coaches Lou Watson and Kaiser Wilhelm… named first team all-conference, first team all-sectional and team MVP his senior year (1955-56)… was a member of first Huntington team to defeat FW North, FW Central and FW South in same season… scored 1,504 career points at The Citadel, which remained the school record for 25 years…  by senior year averaged 17.7 points per game and was named 1st Team all-Southern Conference and 1st Team Collegiate all-state… currently second in school history in scoring and third in career rebounding… member of the 1962 United States Marine Corps All-Star Team and United States All-Star team… coached at Presbyterian College for five years, assistant coach at Clemson University and was assistant coach of 1974 NCAA National Champion North Carolina State Wolfpack under fellow HOF inductee Norm Sloan.
