Mr. Basketball for Indianapolis Washington in '65 ... led Continentals to state championship that season ... Washington won 4 city titles during his career there ... directed Purdue to Big Ten title, and to runner-up spot in the '69 NCAA championship ... that year he was first ever recipient of Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award as the nation's outstanding college player under 6 feet in height ... played 8 seasons with Indiana Pacers, earning reputation as one of pro basketball's best 3-point shooters ... earned 3 ABA championship rings ... coached Brebeuf girls' team and was assistant boys' coach at Purdue, before spending 7 years as coach at Indiana University of Indianapolis ... very active in summer camps for boys and girls.
