Two-year starter at Manual under HOF coach Dick Cummins… 3rd  leading scorer in Indianapolis as a senior, averaging 20.6 points and 13.2 rebounds, earning all-city and all-state honors…  career at Newberry College (SC) included school-record 1,949 career points, leading the nation with 888 points his senior season… senior year averages of 28.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game and averaged 24+ points per game in each of his three seasons… led Newberry to their 1st NAIA National Tournament appearance, earning All-American honors and named 1961 South Carolina College Player of the Year and South Carolina College Athlete of the Year… 1961 draft pick of the Cincinnati Royals, served in the U.S. Army and was named to the All-Army Team winning the 1963 All-Services Championship…  head coach at Thorntown and Whiteland, assistant at Cascade and Northwest and 26-year employee of Indianapolis Public Schools.
