Coached Tom and Dick VanArsdale and Jon McGlocklin as asst. freshman coach at IU while pursuing his MBA, 3-time all-sectional and 2-time all conference pick at Shelbyville, playing for HOF coach Dee Compton...named to Louisville Courier-Journal's all-state 1st five as senior...school's first two-time MVP since 1947played for Branch McCracken at IU...as sophomore, was leading scorer in IU's highest scoring game ever, a 122-93 win over Ohio State...started for the 20-4 1960 squad which split with Buckeyes but Ohio State got the Big-10's only NCAA berth and won the natl. championship...earned captain's honors, UPI All-American honorable mention and Big Ten Medal for academics and athletics as a senior in 1961.
