Starting point guard for Berne Bears, known for his ball-handling and defensive specialty… was drafted into the United States Army at the end of his senior year and fought in the Battle of the Bulge…  went on to play at Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was voted to the City All-Star team his freshman and sophomore years… transferred to Wheaton College for final two years of play… coaching career included 20 years at Seattle Pacific University, leading teams to 267 wins and 11 NCAA Tournaments, including 1965 College Division national championships at Evansville College… assistant coach for the 1979 NBA champion Seattle Supersonics and NBA All-Star game assistant coach… later became Sonics’ general manager and head coach of three European League champions.
